WCW: Michelle Obama
Welcome to my Woman Crush Wednesdays (WCW) where I’ll be celebrating the black women I stan (and you should too).
This week’s WCW is the elegant and incredible forever First Lady, Michelle Obama.
Lawyer, University Administrator, and Writer
She’s not just the only black First Lady in the history of the United states but also the only First Lady in history to hold two Ivy League degrees.
She’s a creator and raiser of black girl magic with one daughter, Malia (middle), currently studying at Harvard and Sasha (left) preparing to graduate high school and head to college as well.
Her new memoir sold 2 million copies in 15 days.
UPDATE: Since the original WCW post, Becoming officially hit 3 million copies sold
Her philanthropy/humanitarianism reaches millions. Fighting against Childhood obesity with public health campaign, Let’s Move!
And voicing support for LGBT rights.
Michelle is truly an inspiration to black girls of all ages across the world.
Parker’s photo was taken as she looked in awe at Michelle’s official Smithsonian portrait so it’s only right that she got to meet Michelle in person and then imitated the portrait for her halloween costume 🖤
Last but not least, Michelle is BY FAR, the baddest first lady to ever walk the halls of the White House
Michelle, you are a living goddess and the role model of all role models. Someone for us all to admire. You make the world a better place by simply existing in it. Barack’s greatest decision wasn’t running for president—it was marrying you. The world didn’t just need him 2008 - 2016, we needed you too. It’s become quite clear over the years that Barack wouldn’t be who he is today without your presence in his life and I think I can safely speak for countless others and say you’ve had the same effect on so many of us. I could go on and on about how incredible, fierce, and inspiring you are but I just want to conclude by saying thank you for being a bright light in a world filled with darkness.
